Crispy Treats Double Chocolate Recipe

“Crispy chocolate rice cereal bars with melted chocolate and mixed again with M&M’s are a double chocolate treat.”

Original recipe yield 18 bars

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
1 cup Karo® Light Corn Syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon Spice Islands® Pure Vanilla Extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups M&M’s® Brand Chocolate Candies, divided
7 cups chocolate crispy cereal

DIRECTIONS
Cook corn syrup and sugar together in a large pan over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Bring mixture to a boil. (OR in a 1 quart microwaveable container; microwave on high (100%) for 2 to 2-1/2 minutes until syrup boils). Remove from heat.
Stir in baking soda and vanilla until blended thoroughly. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips until completely melted and smooth. Add 1 cup M&M candies and cereal and stir to coat completely.
Pour into greased 13×9-inch pan and pat into place.
Top with remaining M&M candies.
Cool and cut into squares. Store in air tight container for up to 2 days.

Black Chocolate Cake recipes

“This is a rich black chocolate cake that uses cocoa powder and lots of sugar. My husband’s all time favorite cake recipe.”

COOK TIME 30 Min
READY IN 40 Min
Original recipe yield 1 – 9×13 inch pan

CAKE INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 pinch salt
2/3 cup shortening
2 cups boiling water
2 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

RECIPE DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Set aside.
Melt the shortening in the boiling water, then stir into the flour mixture until blended. Beat in the eggs, then stir in the vanilla.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
